Did Disneyland Paris Came Close To A CM Death?

This may be old news to some of my readers but the events of the last few months in Walt Disney World shed a different light on the incident at Disneyland Resort Paris’ Wild West Show.

If you watch this video footage, 35 seconds in to the film you need to be paying attention to the area between the stage coach in the centre of the shot and the left hand side of the screen. It is un-nerving to watch.

I’ll let the Casual Reporter take up the narrative.

The Best Time Of The Day

There is a magical hour in Disney's Magic Kingdom When a Cast Member walks alone

Imagine one of the world's most famous streets, Regent Street in London, the Champs Elysee in Paris, or perhaps 5th Avenue in Manhattan. Take away all the people, every last one. Get rid of all the unpleasantness; the trash in the gutter, the billboards selling you things you don’t need and the newspaper vendors telling you things you don’t want to know. Now, just add sparkling lights and a jaunty tune or two and you too can recreate my best Cast Member moments.

Disney Wonder Cast Members in Sea Rescue

Disney Cruise Ship Rescues Another ships Passenger-overboard and it’s Twittered - John Frost at the Disney Blog takes up the story.

Could Spiderman save Disney Studios

So Disney spent 4 Billion on buying the Marvel brand, money that some feel would have been better spent elsewhere notably on the ailing and seemingly under funded Walt Disney Studios park.

There chattering classes of the blogosphere have been lamenting the lack of spending on the studios genre of parks, where with the exception of Disneyland resort Paris there seems to be a spending cap in place. Whole sections of the Floridian park are laying fallow, poor quality (by Disney standards) attractions that barely merit the title. But maybe Spidey could swing in to save the day.

Expert challenges the Special Assistance Pass for some

Disneyland has had a long and proud tradition assisting it’s disabled Guests to get the most out of it’s attractions whether it is through wheel chair hire, wide access queue lines or with its Special Access Passes*. But research from the UK suggests these accommodations may be doing more harm than good for one group of Guests.

Time Magazine Looks At Disney Deaths

"Enchantment can be dangerous work. A series of employee fatalities this summer at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fla., has exposed a hard truth: the recipe for making dreams come true at the Magic Kingdom includes not only pixie dust and princesses but the hard work of very mortal human beings acting in a risky world where sometimes things go badly awry."

The Bottom Line Or The Front Line

Is Disney concentrating on the financial bottom line at the cost to the front line?

It is a sad question to ask but with three Cast Members loosing there lives in accidents clearly tied to health and safety issues, are the eyes of the Walt Disney executives looking more to Wall St. than to problems on Main St. USA?

A Third Walt Disney World Cast Member In 7 Weeks Dies

A third Walt Disney World Cast Member is dead after an accident at Hollywood Studios.

Stunt performer Anislav Varbanov, 30, was fatally injured during a rehearsal for the "Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular." Fellow Cast members dialed 911 at 7:34 p.m. to report that a co-worker sustained a head injury. He was rushed to Florida Hospital Celebration Health, where he was pronounced dead at 8:53 p.m. Varbanov was the the third Cast Member in seven weeks to die after sustaining injuries while working.

The Spammer Is In The Can

Dear all, Those of you who may have got a message from Ms Lucy Dion, please trash it as it looks, smells and tastes like spam mail. I had a couple of complaints and the user account is history.

I am looking at raising the security level on the personal message system a little higher as we speak.

Again my apologies for any inconvenience – if you have any thoughts on this matter please share them on this forum post.

Sprinkling a little Pixie Dust is good For YOU!

The unexpected benifits of being a Disney Cast Member

Pixie Dust Moments, the magic of being a Cast Member.
Every Christmas throughout my childhood I head one refrain over and over again - "it is better to give than to receive" well for Disney Cast Members when it comes to spreading a little pixie dust it seems like it might just be.
