So you want to write for After the Mouse.com.
What we’re looking for
We want to present the experience of working for Disney. We’d like to hear form you if you have a story to tell, an experience to share or an opinion to air. These stories will be open to full public access and should therefore be as concise, witty and informative as possible.
What we’re not looking for
We are not looking to get sued (wave to Disney lawyers and smile )
Please make sure that you have created an original submission to the site. If you are quoting or referring to another source please make sure you site the original material. You might just want to look at Wikipedia’s guide to Fair Use on their excellent site.
There are millions of opportunities on the web to liable, insult, denigrate or just push someone’s button. We don’t want to add to that number. Please write with this in mind.
Obviously, as the site owner I reserve the right to not publish anything I don’t think is acceptable. (hey, it’s my site, I pay the bills, I can say no if I want!) and all the usual rules of common decency apply, non of your ‘isms’ – sexism, racism, etcetera-ism please but if I have any issues I’ll get back to you to discuss my impressions.
We don’t publish anything that has been published previously anywhere else. Your blog counts!
How to write an article for After the Mouse.
Present a clear narrative via a well-balanced structure while keeping our core readership of your fellow Disney Cast Members in mind. Write boldly and in your own voice.
Verify your information and cite sources when you need to. An link to a web reference where possible, putting link text in square brackets, [ ]
How to submit an article for consideration
E-mail us your submission. members@afterthemouse.com We try to review submissions at least once a week, but sometimes it takes longer. (Sometimes a lot longer.) Patience is a virtue.
There are three acceptable formats for the delivery of the final draft of your article:
• Microsoft Word .doc or .RTF file
• Plain text (eg a .txt file)
• In the body of your email.
If you use Microsoft Word or plain text, and you wish to link to another web reference, site or page, please put link text in square brackets, [ ] .
