Rumour Regarding Name Change for Disney's Hollywood Studios?

intercot.com - Wed, 2018-01-31 01:25
While Rumours and informal announcements of a name change for Walt Disney World's 3rd theme park have been circulating for sometime, the first Rumour specifically pointing to a selected name has begun some circulation.

Of a list of seemingly surreal names circulated from a reported survey, it is now being rumoured that Disney Cinemagine Park has been selected as the new name for Disney's Hollywood Studios park as part of the larger overhaul project.

While the name selection is still far from confirmed, a more concrete expectation is that the change will likely happen May 2018 around the park's anniversary and just ahead of the first major phase on the park's re-imagining--Toy Story Land.

-------------

On a personal note, if the park isn't re-named Disney Hollywood Adventure park; I think it would be a big miss. The symmetry with its essentially sibling park on the west coast (Disney California Adventure park) could help build a more recognizable brand and blueprint like the "castle" parks do (the "theater" parks?). Likewise having Carthay Circle Theater and the Chinese Theater as the two icons of the two parks would be nice parallels to two very important theaters (and eras) in Disney Movie history.

Dining Plan vs Paying Out Of Pocket

intercot.com - Tue, 2018-01-30 23:49
Apologies if this has been asked before...

We are new DVC members, and our first stay is coming up this May. Have been trying to decide whether or not to buy a dining plan or just pay out of pocket using the 10% discount for DVC members. We have used the dining plan numerous times over the years and have really enjoyed the "pre-paid" aspect of it. But saving 10% on meals sounds like a pretty good deal. Any thoughts or comments based upon your experiences? :mickey:

CBR construction

intercot.com - Tue, 2018-01-30 20:08
:goofy: Does anyone know when the current construction at CBR will be completed? We would like to book a room for Nov., but if the food court is still closed, that would be a deal-breaker.
Thanks for the info.

Meal plan with AP??

intercot.com - Tue, 2018-01-30 18:07
Looking at purchasing an annual pass but really like the meal plan. Is it worth paying rack rate for the room to get the meal plan??
I have heard of people getting an AP for one person in the party to take advantage of the room rates but then can you still get the meal plan also??
Trying to run the numbers but there are too many combinations.
What is the best ticket/room/meal plan combination???
Thank you so much for your advise!!

Fast Pass Selections - 60 Day Mark Staying on Property Question

intercot.com - Tue, 2018-01-30 17:15
So my brother and his family are heading down to WDW over Spring Break and are currently able to make their FP selections based on the 60 day mark (60 +10 days). But it is possible that they may decide to shorten their length of time on property before heading down. So the question is this: What would happen to the FP selections he makes now at the 60 day mark for the week he is on property if he were to suddenly shorten his time on property and stay somewhere else off site (they may stay on property for only 1 day rather than a week)? Would he lose those FP selections for the days he is off-site or would those remain because he made them at a time when he was scheduled to stay on property for the whole week? Thanks!

Special needs daughter

intercot.com - Tue, 2018-01-30 14:58
I have been to Disney so many times but now I finally get to take my DD! She is 2 years old with global delays. (Not talking yet, not walking without assistance, G-tube fed, along with other issues). We will be driving to Disney when we go and staying on property. What were some things you did to make your trip easier? I was thinking it would be easy to drive to the parks rather than taking the bus. Is there any problem getting through security with her foods and feeding tubes? Any advice from you guys would be much appreciated!
