The Walt Disney World resort has announced its Entertainment Schedule for Independence Day 2018.

Fireworks will soar above Magic Kingdom Park while the air swells with patriotic melodies. The two-nights-only show starts at 9:15 p.m. on July 3 and July 4.

Also at Magic Kingdom Park:

DJs will host dance parties in Frontierland and Tomorrowland on July 3 and July 4.
The Muppets Present…Great Moments in American History: Miss Piggy, Kermit, Fozzie Bear and friends reenact famous moments in American history – as only they can. The live show is performed daily in Liberty Square.

FUN FACT: The Liberty Bell in Liberty Square is a replica cast from the same mold of the original in Philadelphia; it was placed in Magic Kingdom Park in recognition of the bicentennial of the United States Constitution in 1987.

IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth
The perennial “kiss goodnight” at Epcot will include a special fireworks finale that paints the sky red, white and blue. The spectacular begins at 9 p.m. on July 4.

Also at Epcot:

The Voices of Liberty a cappella group will perform traditional Americana songs on the America Gardens Theatre stage at 5:30, 6:45 and 8 p.m.
Disney Characters dressed in Independence Day attire will meet guests during the day at The American Adventure.

FUN FACT: More than 26,000 feet of lights outline the Epcot World Showcase pavilions that play a role in “IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth.”

Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular
Fireworks are just one portion of this immersive nighttime experience at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Adding state-of-the-art projection effects, dynamic lighting and lasers, the show transports guests to a galaxy far, far away and into iconic scenes from the Star Wars saga. This one-of-a-kind “wow” begins at 10 p.m. on July 4.

No FP+ for Star Wars characters?

Just wanted to double check here, but it looks like the Star Wars meet & greets in HS aren't on the FP+ list. Is that correct? Thanks! :mickey:

Broken Arm

intercot.com - Sat, 2018-06-16 15:27
We leave for Disneyworld on Tuesday June 19 and my 8yr old daughter just broke her arm yesterday. Was curious if the characters would be able to sign her cast. Also has anyone had this happen and we’re you able to swim with a waterproof cast? She’s going to be so upset if she can’t swim.

Girls night?

intercot.com - Sat, 2018-06-16 06:29
My DDIL's mother has decided to join us on our trip. On the kids' date night, she asked if she and I could go for a girls night out. The only thing I could think of doing is hopping over to POR to see if Yehaa Bob is playing. I haven't seen him yet. What other suggestions do you guys have?

Bringing guest that uses walker

intercot.com - Thu, 2018-06-14 16:42
My brother is going to meet me in Orlando for a few days in August. He uses a walker to get around and also has problems with side vision and has to have help by walking close by so he doesn’t get dizzy.

We are going to have one park day, probably animal kingdom, and he isn’t going to get his ticket ahead so won’t get fast passes ahead of time. If he isn’t in a wheelchair can he still go in the handicapped entrance to rides and shows so he doesn’t have to use steps and hopefully won’t stand quite as long.

He likes to walk because it keeps him in better shape and he feels better with a walker rather than a wheelchair.

Is Magical Express able to take guests that can’t get on the bus? I regular van would work for him but those busses probably won’t.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Not sure where to post this question, so I'm trying here... I'm trying to plan a trip , but at the bottom of every intercot page I've clicked onto so far the info is from 2016 . Does that mean every thing is the same and has not changed since 2016 ? I am looking at the dining menus prices and I want to make sure I am figuring correctly so I can price out my trip for sure.. Thank you

Question on booking 2019 packages on 6/19

intercot.com - Thu, 2018-06-14 12:03
Hi there-

I have a question that I seem to be getting mixed answers on when I do an internet search. We all know that 2019 packages are opening up on 6/19. But can you book for the entire year or is it just 499 days out (so only until the end of Oct)?

We are lucky enough to be planning two trips, one in June and one in early December (NOT for Star Wars but to attend a Christmas party) and I'm trying to prepare for what I can book on Tuesday (especially how many deposits I'll need!). I'd like to book a package for June and a room only for December since we will probably move to APs in June.

People all over are talking like they are going to be booking Nov/Dec for Star Wars hopes on Tuesday but I see several sites with a note saying that packages are only out 499 days. Other sites say nothing other than 2019. I can't recall if this was done in the past or if it really is due to SW opening. I've never planned a trip at the end of the year before.

Thanks!

Rose and Crown vs La Hacienda de San Angel

intercot.com - Tue, 2018-06-12 21:08
Rose and Crown has always been our go to place whenever we are in EPCOT. They had a great steak and we always managed to get reservations later in the evening so we can get a great viewing spot for Illuminations. So it was in our plans to eat there for our upcoming trip in August and we scored a pretty good dinner time which would allow us to see Illuminations from their great location. Then we saw they changed the menu and they eliminated the steak. The fish and chips are good but my wife and daughters either don’t like fish or will not eat fatty or fried food. The steak was pretty much it.
Now we’re not sure if we want to keep the reservation and attempt to try something else on the menu which chances are they won’t like or try another restaurant with a decent view. We are looking at possibly trying La Hacienda de San Angel. We looked at the menu and there is steak on the menu. So does anyone know if it’s possible to view Illuminations here like you can at the Rose and Crown?

Two Disney Springs Restaurants Pair Up for Special Event

intercot.com - Tue, 2018-06-12 20:22
Disney Springs is offering a special "pairing" of two of its popular dining spots:

In addition, guests ages 21 and up can enjoy craft brews from nearby breweries.

Wondering what’s on the menu? Pork cheek tamales, Dim Sum Dogs (gyoza sausage with fried bao bun), Florida peach glazed pork belly satay with spicy peanut sauce, Pork Skirt Steak Yakiniku Tacos and house-cured charcuterie will be served throughout the second floor of Morimoto Asia, while the star of the show – a whole roasted pig – will be sliced and served to guests on the upstairs patio overlooking Disney Springs.

With a focus on locally-sourced ingredients, guests will have the chance to meet the farmers from Frog Song Organics and Palmetto Creek Farms, along with representatives from local breweries including Cask & Larder, Coppertail, Crooked Can Brewing Co., Red Cypress and Red Light Red Light.

The event takes place on Sunday, June 24, 2018 from 12 – 3 p.m. and tickets can be purchased in advance here for $55 plus tax and gratuity; children 12 and under are $25. Attached Images
