What’s your favorite quick service restaurant?

intercot.com - Wed, 2017-11-15 17:36
Planning a quick service DDP vacation and while we do enjoy certain meals at some of them - finding it challenging to make sure we aren’t always eating the same food. Was hoping to get some new ideas. In particular- was hoping to get some reviews on the food at Pinnochio Village Haus at MK. It’s been a couple years since we ate there and while I think we mostly liked it - something I can’t recall sticks in my head that someone in my group got something they really didn’t like there. Just wondered what the opinions /experiences are recently there.

Any opinions would be really appreciated - in all parks/resorts. Even considering hopping on the monorail from MK if there is something good at one of the resorts.

Thanks!

Epcot

intercot.com - Wed, 2017-11-15 16:47
Spent a very pleasant day at Epcot. It was rather breezy, at times, but the sun was shining and it wasn't cold, hot, or humid.

It took a full 20 minutes to get through the security when we arrived just before the park opened - and I got in what was a shorter line.

The last several times we went to Epcot, we hadn't gone on a single ride. This time we did go on a number of rides including Spaceship Earth (We were able to walk right on as soon as we got into the park. Later, the line was considerably longer), The Seas with Nemo, Soarin (fast pass), Living with the Land (also fast pass and this was definitely needed), The Circle of Life, Disney & Pixar Short Film Festival (very cute), and the Gran Fiesta Tour in Mexico.

We also wandered through the aquarium and stopped to watch the Voices of Liberty. We had fast passes for Journey Into Imagination but did not do this ride. We were hungry when the fast pass time came up and, while we were at lunch, received an e-mail saying the ride was down.

For lunch, we stopped into Spice Road Table where we immediately seated on the outdoor patio (at our request). We did not have reservations. We shared an order of calamari and a chocolate cake and ice cream dessert which made for an enjoyable lunch.

The rest our our time was spent wandering around World Showcase and stepping into various shops. I guess it's been a while since we've been in the store in Japan as it has been completely remodeled since we last wandered in.

Warcraft, Disneyland and Beaches Oh My Day 4

intercot.com - Tue, 2017-11-14 23:24
Me- 46 year old Disney lover who doesn't act her age
DR (Dear Roommate) - 33 year old who has no idea what he is getting himself into

Today we got to sleep in and relax. Aaaahhh. I think we slept until 11 and then explored around the "resort". Beso del Sol isn't what I typically expect from a timeshare. There were only 10 units. No staff were around, but we had the manager's phone number if we needed anything. The beach was maybe a 3 minute walk away from us. There was a media room with a computer in it. There was a laundry room, which we put to good use during the afternoon. It was only one washer and dryer, but we didn't have to pay for it. The fact that we didn't have to mess with quarters made the one washer/dryer situation well worth it. For most of the week, we were the only ones there. It was a great place if you wanted a nice, quiet, solo or romantic getaway on the beach.

Around 4 pm, we started to get hungry. A fellow intercotee had suggested that we check out Old World Village, so that was our plan for the evening. Most of the shops were closed, but we went to the German restaurant and had a great meal. There was supposed to be a band called Lakatos there according to the website schedule, but we never saw them. There was a guy that got up on stage and sang German songs. Two little girls around age 7 or so stole the show though. The more outgoing stood up at her table and started dancing. As more and more people watched and cheered her on, she moved up to in front of the stage. Her sister, not to be outdone, joined her at the front of the stage. Sister #1 wasn't too keen about sharing the spotlight with her sibling, so as she was swinging her shoulders and hips around to dance, she would lean over and elbow her sister off to the side. DR and I had quite a few laughs at their antics. We ate schnitzel things that I couldn't pronounce for dinner. He had apple struedel for dessert, and I had German chocolate cake. The slice I got was large enough to feed a small army.
We waddled out of the restaurant and meandered through the Old World Village shops. It was probably really amazing in its heyday. We passed a little bakery and regretted getting dessert at the restaurant. The homemade stuff looked delicious. I would have liked to have seen the inside of the church, but no doors were open. After about 30 mins of wandering, we returned to our timeshare.
I had the brilliant idea of actually going out to the beach, since it was right there. A moonlit stroll on the beach could be romantic in the movies or the scene of a brutal murder in a horror flick. In reality, a moonlit stroll on the beach is freezing cold. I returned after maybe 5 minutes, running into the room to turn on the nice warm fireplace. DR just laughed at me.
We had a full day planned for Monday, so I turned in early. DR stayed up watching some movie on his Ipad. He regretted that in the morning. :P

Ideas for showing pins other than lanyards

intercot.com - Tue, 2017-11-14 21:50
On my trip last week, I saw someone with pins attached to their jacket. I thought about attaching my pins to a jean jacket to wear, but I haven't even gotten through all of them and the jacket weighs a ton. Lanyards are too heavy around my neck. Do you guys do anything else with your pins?

Mobile food ordering and DDP

intercot.com - Tue, 2017-11-14 15:42
I know when I was checking out the mobile food ordering through the app about a month ago - it said you can’t mobile order and use DDP. Has that changed? I just looked at it again and am not getting that message anymore. Just planning ahead for my upcoming trip.

Also - any opinions on the mobile ordering process?

Thanks!
