Disney Springs

intercot.com - Tue, 2017-09-05 18:05
We'll be there in November and for our first night decided to go to Disney Springs and grab dinner. Looking for a decent restaurant that you don't need reservations at. Any thoughts? :mickey:

How soon can you reserve rooms?

intercot.com - Tue, 2017-09-05 17:14
It's been nine years since we were last at WDW, and so much has changed! I feel like I'm learning all over again.

How far out do they allow reservations? I tried going to Disney's WDW website, but I'm having trouble finding rates. I know it's too soon to book over a year from now when we would be going, but I've been looking every once in a while for the past few months and there was never any rooms available at the same time this year to get an idea of what to expect for next year.

Are they really that booked up or is there a length of time that is optimal to look?

To park hop or not?

intercot.com - Tue, 2017-09-05 15:34
So, we have not had a trip with park hopping since it was added as an extra cost to tickets. With usually having little ones and staying off-site at wyndsor bonnet creek, we never felt tied down with one park per day. But, this trip we are staying at the contemporary BLT. I am trying to plan our dining reservations for tomorrow and am struggling with what parks to do in the evenings if we park hop. I feel like being on-site we have more freedom to go to different places. Or will we end up feeling like all we are doing is riding buses? Do you normally plan your evening park if you park hop or do you see what everyone feels like? Do you plan a nighttime show at a different park than the one you were at in the morning? I don't want to be completely locked down, but my kids are little (8,6,2) and will go wherever I say we are going.

New Vs Old Magic Band

intercot.com - Tue, 2017-09-05 14:48
Does anyone know if there are any differences in the capabilities of the two types of magic bands? I have a limited edition in the old style that is my favorite to wear, but I also have a few sets of the new ones and I just wondered if there were any advantages to the new style over the old as far as features?

Another FP question

intercot.com - Tue, 2017-09-05 13:45
So, I finished booking fast passes and managed to get everything I wanted.

Now, just one more question. Since November Rivers of Light Dining Packages are STILL not available (any ideas why??) I booked a FP for the show. My question is, I know that once you use your 3 FP for the day... you can book more. So, since I used a FP for the night time show, does that mean I'll only be able to have 3 FP for the entire day??

Hurricane Irma

intercot.com - Tue, 2017-09-05 13:38
I have a trip scheduled this Fri 9/8 - Mon 9/11 and am monitoring the hurricane. Anyone else with trips planned getting concerned? We're booked at the Boardwalk. It's my understanding we can cancel with no penalty only if a hurricane warning is issued for Orlando, so we're just taking a wait and see approach...

What you need to know about Hurricane Irma’s impact on your Walt Disney World vacation

TheDisneyBlog.com - Tue, 2017-09-05 04:00

Hard to believe, but it has already been more than a year since Hurricane Matthew zoomed by Central Florida, largely skipping the attractions area, but doing some damage along the east coast of the state. As you might have heard, it’s time to start paying close attention to severe weather...
