Terralina Crafted Italian restaurant to open in Fall 2017 at Disney Springs

TheDisneyBlog.com - Wed, 2017-07-12 01:04

As work continues to spruce up many of the older properties that pre-date the new Disney Springs concept, one of the ones I’m most excited about is the transformation of the former Portobello Country Italian Trattoria led by chef Tony Mantuano. The James Beard Award-winning Chef has just announced the...

January 2018 Park Hours

intercot.com - Tue, 2017-07-11 15:24
First time I've ever run into this, this morning is my 180+ day for ADR's but the park hours haven't been posted past January 7. Normally I would just go by the week before but being a holiday week I don't think that will work. I hope this isn't a sign of things to come.

Uber

intercot.com - Tue, 2017-07-11 14:09
Has anyone used Uber to go to Orlando airport? Our flight out is so early in the morning, I'd rather not take Magical Express. Uber is quoting $40 so wondering if other have used it what you found the cost to be. Unless the price of a car rental comes down, we'll be using Disney transportation this year! I'm only interested in Uber or Lyft (no taxi or transportation service). Thanks!

To go or not to go...that is the question

intercot.com - Tue, 2017-07-11 13:59
So this is more of a stream of consciousness type thing than an actual post or really even an actual question.

So probably almost a year ago I booked 5 nights at WL Sept. 13th-18th because they are the last days my AP is valid and I got a great deal on a room only bounce back.

Since that last Sept trip I have been down for 3 long weekends using my AP, twice by myself and once with DH-who doesn't have an AP. All the trips were great and so enjoyable! (We are about a 7 hour without stopping drive from WDW.)

Fast forward, I've made ADRs (since I know that is a super busy time with folks using bounce back free dining or regular free dining) and was able to mostly secure our favorites. FP+ window opens on Saturday.

Well I've been up in the air about the trip for a few reasons.

#1. I actually have 3 other trips of some kind between now and October. (Yeah I know, I'm a travel junkie).

#2. Looking at things like hotel availability it looks like it is going to be VERY busy down there.

I know as far as the room goes I can wait and cancel last minute but in order to get our FP on Saturday I have to go ahead and purchase DH a park hopper this week. DH likes WDW (he likes it a little more each time he goes) but isn't crazy like I am.

I just flat out can't decide if we should go or not. It's not a huge money decision, but at the same time it's probably going to be about $2,600 for 4 1/2 days and 5 nights with WL, park hopper, food and booze.

I just can't figure out how to make a good decision about it. (I probably will not be renewing my pass as we have other travel plans for the rest of 2017-2018.)

Advice?

You can't get there from here...

intercot.com - Mon, 2017-07-10 16:48
I have been looking at flights to Orlando in March. We have about a 3 hour drive to a major airport. The departure/return times are causing me grief. The cheaper flights leave early (we'd have to book a hotel overnight or no sleep) or late (makes the first day in the parks exhausting). I only have two airlines with non-stop flights, one's expensive and the other has a rather poor safety record. Both show some "sold out" flights already.

Also, I have six adults and a baby to book for. Do them all at once? Book early or wait?

Any related tips would be appreciated.

Southwest does not show a schedule for March yet.

Engagement Photos question

intercot.com - Mon, 2017-07-10 16:21
Hi everyone!

With it being summer and living in Virginia (our weather changes on a dime), my fiancé and I have continuously rescheduled our engagement photos due to inclement weather. Our wedding is not until May but considering it is a black-tie event we want to send invitations/photos early so guests will have time to find appropriate attire for a black-tie event. All of that to ask, should engagement photos align with your wedding season, or can we take them during any season? For example, our wedding is in May so I wanted pictures during the summer. But would it be out of place to have fall engagement photos for a spring/summer wedding? Not something I'm too worried about, just wanted to gather some opinions and advice :bride::groom:

Countdown to Disney Traditions?

intercot.com - Mon, 2017-07-10 14:38
I'm curious, what do y'all do in the coming weeks to help you get through the work weeks until your Disney vacation?

My mom and I watch classic Disney movies (really only the ones that truly make us think about Disney, like Peter Pan and Toy Story), watch Youtube videos, and look at our old Disney scrapbooks. Recently, we keep up with the Shop Parks app and make a little "wish list".

And of course I keep Intercot up on my browser all through the work day and visit it when I need to take a little escape break :mickey:

19 days!!! :balloon:
